The Archmother

The Archmother is the second Patron and the Hidden King’s direct rival. She covets the same passage to our plane and makes the same promise: a granted wish for whoever carries her to incarnation.

The ritual pits the two entities against each other through their champions. Each side attempts to summon its Patron while preventing the other from doing the same: this is the heart of every Deadlock confrontation. The Archmother and the Hidden King do not fight each other directly; instead, they wage a proxy war on the streets of the City.

Like its rival, the Archmother is a force beyond human comprehension. Those who serve it never do so out of pure devotion, but out of self-interest: no one knows what becomes of those whose wishes are ultimately granted.
